Repairs to sash windows and painting of masonry walls in a beautiful house in Great Shelford, Cambridge
Carried out in August 2016, this substantial family home required the masonry walls and wooden windows to be repaired and treated to maintain the good looks of the building. Situated on a busy road in Great Shelford, Cambridgeshire, the home was subject to pollution and needed a fresh and clean look, as well as protection.
The window repairs on this home began with the sanding of the wooden window frames. These were sanded down to the bare wood and any rotten or damaged areas were filled with a resinous filler and Accoya/Tricoya wood. The wood of the windows was then painted using our specialist spray painting technique with imported American paints for the very best, smooth and hard wearing finish. The masonry walls of this property also needed attention. We painted these with a specialist masonry paint, to which we added an antifungal solution. This will ensure that the walls are protected from mould and mildew and will maintain their pristine good looks for years to come.
Despite the huge proportions of this home, we were able to carry out all work within just one week. The result is a beautiful home that is fully protected both from the local car pollution and from the British weather.
