Extensive repairs of wooden windows in a charming house in Barley, Royston
In the summer of 2016 we received a call from the new owners of Crown House in Barley, Royston. They had been given our details by the previous owners as we had carried out some work on the house for them. The new owners wanted a complete renovation of all exterior woodwork and window repairs and we were more than happy to help. We quoted them for window renovation and spray painting.
The exterior woodwork had certainly seen better days and understandably, as new owners of the property, the client wanted an excellent job that would last. We sanded all of the exterior woodwork and removed rotted sections on window surrounds and soffits – replacing sections where required and filling with Accoya/Tricoya wood and resinous fillers where possible. Our aim is always to preserve as much of the original woodwork as we can and we always use a wood hardener to protect in the long term.
After protecting the surrounding areas with film and masking paper we used our bespoke spray painting system to get a smooth finish on all of the woodwork around the house, giving it a fresh look that has an almost glass-like look and feel.
The new owners were impressed with the finish, but they especially appreciated the fact that the job took just five days – leaving them to enjoy their new home.
