The heritage double glazing that we use in all of our period window double glazing projects is just 7 mm thick. However, thanks to the fantastic vacuum-sealed technology, it offers the same thermal properties as triple glazing. So, your sash windows offer much more protection from changes in the temperature than ever before. Fineo glazing also helps to keep the noise down in your home as well.
Unlike secondary glazing, with double glazing, any issues with draughts or damp are solved. Sash window secondary glazing keeps all of the draught and damp issues out of a room, but all issues are still present within the window frame. This means that eventually, your wooden window will begin to rot and decay.
With double glazing as a secondary glazing alternative, though, all of these issues are solved during the installation, so you can enjoy a warm, quieter home without the risk of damp and draughts ruining your lovely windows.

From ÂŁ910 for double glazing and draught-proofing of victorian style sash windows and from ÂŁ960 for double glazed Georgian style sash windows. Full timber frame restoration will cost an additional ÂŁ450-690 per window, depending on the size. Please also note that our minimum order quantity is 15 windows.
The example we have here clearly shows how good Fineo double glazing is. The image on the left is a normal photo. The one in the middle is a thermal photo in colour. The one on the right is the same thermal image but black and white. In the colour thermal image, the purples and blues show higher rates of heat loss. The top window is one that we’ve replaced with Fineo glass. You can see that the bottom window is experiencing a much higher rate of heat loss than the top. This occurs in your home all day, every day unless you have Fineo double glazing installed.
