Renovation of wooden windows and painting of masonry walls in a property in Harston, Cambridge
A substantial family home in Harston, Cambridgeshire was in need of window repairs and masonry treatments in June 2015 and we were proud to take on the work. The aim was to achieve a new and fresh look through spray painting, while still retaining the character of the wooden windows that included bay windows and many small-paned feature windows.
We sanded the window frames down to bare wood in order to identify those areas that suffered with rot and damage. These areas were filled with a resinous filler and Accoya/ Tricoya wood. We also took the time to treat the surround masonry walls with an anti-fungal solution to ensure they stayed looking their best after they were spray painted and were not affected by mould. After carefully protecting surrounding areas and the windows with film and masking tape, the walls were painted with a specialist masonry paint. We then spray painted the window frames using our bespoke system and imported American paints.
It took just 5 days to transform this beautiful home into one that is protected and fresh looking – the way it will continue to look for many years.
